Second Grade Teacher • Eternal Optimist • Hugs Like a Weighted Blanket
Backstory
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Nairobi met Queen and Donna in high school, where she became the heart of the cheer team as the beloved manager. She gave pep talks, made glitter signs, and had the ability to lift spirits even on the longest game days.
Now living in Wilmington, Delaware, she teaches second grade with the same warmth she brought to the sidelines. Nairobi is married to Nick, a lively UPS driver and weekend drummer in a gospel choir, who loves to gossip almost as much as he loves her. They have a six year old son, Kobe, who inherited her bright smile and his father’s energy.
Her friends sometimes wonder if Nick’s flamboyant demeanor has a deeper meaning, but Nairobi waves it off with blind love. What they all agree on is that she is the person you call when you need perspective, a snack, and a smile that feels like home.
She Is…
Warm – Makes people feel instantly welcome
Creative – Brings imagination to everything she does
Patient – Can weather any storm with a smile
Supportive – Shows up for her friends with food, advice, or both
In Her Own Words
“A simple smile, can make your day better.”
Nairobi
